OTA Fliggy starts mass recruitment

Fliggy, the online travel agency of Alibaba, launched mass recruitment on Tuesday, opening up the first batch of more than 200 job posts before the end of this year. After China relaxed Covid-19 control measures, people traveling among cities don’t have to show a PCR result, the travel code, another restriction limiting the mobility of people, was scrapped on Tuesday as well.

Fliggy told Jiemian News the new job opportunities cover technology, products, operation and business development. Over 40 percent of the jobs are associated with business development, indicating the company’s ambition to expand.

Meanwhile, Fliggy has also rolled out plans to help dealers on its platform as well as customers, including waiving fees, issuing coupons, and offering operational support.

Earlier in March, President of Fliggy ZHUANG Zhuoran said in an internal memo that the company “should be prepared to face the market alone”, though Fliggy is, for now, a wholly-owned subsidiary corporation of Alibaba.

Data showed by the end of 2021, Trip.com remained the largest OTA in China, followed by Meituan, Tongcheng Travel, and Qunar, Fliggy ranked fifth.
